If you're seeking a cozy retreat that feels like a slice of European charm right in the heart of Asokoro, Abuja, look no further than Wells Cafe & Wells Bakehouse. This charming cafe combines the warmth of a local gathering spot with the aromatic allure of a genuine bakehouse, making it a perfect destination for coffee enthusiasts and pastry lovers alike.

The moment you step inside, the delicious scent of freshly baked goods envelops you, reminding you of quaint European cafes. Wells Cafe stands out for its inviting atmosphere—serene, yet lively enough to enjoy a productive meeting or a quiet morning alone with a book. Reviews reflect this ambiance, with visitors like Reginald Bassey praising it as a “great spot for a hideaway to do some work.” It’s worth visiting in the morning when you're likely to enjoy an uninterrupted experience, as noted by Trish O M, who loved the quietude of her visit paired with amazing ginger tea.

As for the menu, Wells Cafe & Wells Bakehouse offers a delightful selection of pastries that are visually stunning and flavorful. The sausage roll is a customer favorite, touted for its savory goodness and flaky crust, while the chicken puff may surprise you—with some fans relishing its unique flavor, while others, like Ake Udoh, found it overwhelming. Nevertheless, you’ll find something to love in their extensive offerings. While some patrons, such as Ake, have remarked on the pricing, it’s essential to remember that you’re paying for quality ingredients and an exceptional baking experience reminiscent of top-tier European establishments.

For those who appreciate the artistry of baking, the freshly made pastries are certainly worth a visit. My mouth waters at the thought of their fluffy doughnuts and rich chocolate croissants, perfect for pairing with a cup of their freshly brewed coffee, which is raved about as one of the best in the city.

While the food generally garners rave reviews, some feedback from diners has pointed out minor imperfections, like dry rice without sauce or an occasional service hiccup. Nonetheless, even when busy, the staff is noted for being welcoming and attentive, as highlighted by Anientha’s world, who praised their server's exceptional performance. This hospitality contributes to a friendly and homey vibe that keeps customers coming back.

Whether you’re popping in for a quick coffee break, indulging in some fresh pastries, or seeking a quiet corner to work, Wells Cafe & Wells Bakehouse delivers an experience that stays with you long after you've left. Your taste buds and senses will thank you for giving this gem in Abuja a try.

Their pastries are nice I particularly enjoyed the sausage roll but the Chicken puff not so much it was a bit too much for me. My only issue is that the pastries are a bit overpriced in my opinion I understand that it may be due to the location but they definitely aren't worth the price tag.

Newly found treasured space in Asokoro. Great spot for hideaway to do some work and meet up. Smells like a typical European bakehouse and one of the best coffees I have tasted in Abuja

Went in the morning so it was quiet. Doesn’t seem to have much of a crowd until later in the day. The music isn’t obtrusive and the food came in good time. The ginger tea was amazing. The staff inside were very welcoming, the staff in the parking lot, not so much.

The food was good, but the rice was a little dry and there was no sauce to go with it. The wings were amazing, we got two different types. We got some pastries too but unfortunately I didn’t get pictures of that. Only one server/ waiter/ Barman. He did exceptionally good though
